Rash On Neck
Rashes are reactions on the skin from some type of foreign object. These things can be a multitude of things from allergies, or bug bites to chemical reactions, or just nerves. We will go over all the possible different reasons that you could get a rash on your neck. And hopefully what you read here will help you figure out what is creating your rash. There are actually many different reasons why people get rashes, and there is not way to tell what will give someone a rash until it happens. Although most causes of rashes are harmless there are a few things that cause rashes that could be quite serious if left unchecked.
Here is a list of some rashes with descriptions that can be found on or around the neck. Although it is wise to get any rash checked by a doctor no matter where it is this will hopefully give you an idea of what it may be. Whatever you think it maybe though you should go to doctor to get it medically checked if it lasts more then one day, or if there are any other symptoms besides just a rash. Here is a list of some rashes that you may find around your neck.
- Boils can be found anywhere on your body including your neck, boils are normally accompanied by pain associated with the bumps. Boils can be caused by infected hair follicles.
- Insect bites can be on your neck, although it is normally just one or two bites in a general area the reaction from the saliva injected can cause a rash. Itching is normally associated with bug bites.
- Allergic reactions can be caused by almost anything, and can be anywhere on the body. Soaps, detergents, lotions, or anything else applied to the skin can cause rashes on the neck. If you develop a rash after changing brands of any thing mentioned switch back to old brand to see if rash persists.
- Hives can be located on the neck but normally start around the face. Hives can be from a lot of different things, but most of the time it is caused by stress, or allergic reactions.
- Irritant Contact Dermatitis is a very common reason people get rashes, it too can be found anywhere on the body, and is normally acquired when someone comes in contact with the oil of certain plants, and weeds. These plants and weeds are called poison ivy, poison sumac, and poison oak. Itching is always accompanied by a red, blistery rash that will stay for a couple days to a week depending on severity.
- Allergic Purpura or Vascular Purpura is when someone has a allergic reaction to a medicine that they have taken. These are very dark red bumps that can form anywhere on the body. Although it normally only effects small children anyone can get it.
- Dermatitis Herpetiformis or DH is a chronic blistering of the skin that effects the head, face, back areas. It is considered a Autoimmune disease, and many times medication, and a change in diet can help get rid of it.
- Shingles is also called a zona, it's a viral disease that can be very painful, and come with blisters. It can be found anywhere on the body.
These are just some of the things that could cause rashes on your neck. Other things could be food allergies, or some other type of change in your bodies chemical make-up. Just remember to think about what has changed in your lifestyle from before you go the rash to now. If you changed anything like body soap, laundry detergent, shampoo, or anything like that go back to the old kind and see if the rash stays around. And like mentioned above if you discover a rash on your neck, or anywhere else on your body you should get it checked out by your doctor.
